More than half of the refugees are children. Their normal routines with family, school and play are destroyed. The reality they once knew of safety and security no longer exists. Their homes and cities have been reduced to rubble and their lives turned upside down. Much like their faces in this portrait series, their perspectives on life have been distorted. Spending several weeks in different refugee camps, I interacted with boys and girls at play. Through portraits photographed hanging upside down, I captures their now warped existence.
